What happens if you get, *gasp*, LEFT BEHIND!? :O?

So I know if your at a port and your not back in time the big boats gonna leave without you. I'm just wondering if your like in Belize and your taxi gets a flat or your abducted by penguins, and you don't make it back, are you on your own or does the cruise line have some guy there to help people get a hotel or something? Until the next boat comes by?
