Getting rid of rats while having chickens?!?

First, don't use poison, the chickens might eat the droppings of the rats and then they may die. also i suggest just trapping the rats in a have-a-heart because 1) it wont kill the rat 2) you can give rats to your enemy (lol >=]) but seriously the rats are probably just stuck in the chicken coop and probably breeding so just don't Poison them and catch and release them in a field far away. they probably won't come into the house if you have a dog and even if they did they would not hurt you unless you live in a dirty household!
