Would it turn out well if I sprayed resin on my denim jeans?

I'm trying to give my denim jeans a plastic-like or metallic-like sheen. I don't want to buy a new pair. Would spraying them with Castin' Craft resin spray be a bad idea? If so, what do you suggest I use?
